You may be able to access support if you’re a Horizon Power residential or small business customer in Exmouth and were impacted by ex-Tropical Cyclone Narelle, including if you:
- experienced a prolonged power outage related to the cyclone
- had damage to electricity infrastructure or your electrical installation
- experienced property damage that made your home or business uninhabitable and requires rebuilding or temporary power.
This recovery support is available to residential and small business customers of Horizon Power and is not applicable to government customers.
What support is available?
Depending on your situation, the following support may be available:
- Extended outage payment
If you experienced a power outage of more than 12 hours due to ex-Tropical Cyclone Narelle, we will automatically apply an extended outage payment of $240 to your account. This is double the amount of the standard Extended Outage Payment of $120. No application is required — we’ll take care of this for you.
If your property was damaged due to the cyclone, then you may be eligible for additional financial assistance.
- Waived connection and reconnection fees
If your property was destroyed, electricity network connection and reconnection fees may be waived.
- Meter repair or replacement at no cost
If your electricity meter was damaged during the cyclone, we’ll repair or replace it at no cost.
- Temporary builder supply support
If your property was destroyed and you need temporary power while rebuilding, the establishment fee may be waived.
- Waived supply abolishment fees
Supply abolishment fees may be waived for destroyed properties.
