On 24 June 2026, Horizon Power’s new Contractor Portal replaced the application forms previously available on this webpage.

Contractor registration and authorisation

External contractor workers must receive approval before working for Horizon Power. There are two types of approval, and the Horizon Power Contractor Portal manages both processes.

01

Registration

For lower‑risk work not on or near electrical generation or network assets.

Examples include cleaning, gardening and depot electrical work.

What you’ll need:

  • Formal photo ID (Australian driver’s licence or passport)

  • Passport‑style photo (no hat, no sunglasses, head and shoulders only)

02

Authorisation

For high‑risk work and/or work on or near generation or network assets.

Examples include line work, generator maintenance and cable jointing.

What you’ll need:

  • Formal photo ID (Australian driver’s licence or passport)

  • Passport‑style photo (no hat, no sunglasses, head and shoulders only)

  • Relevant licences, tickets and training for the specific work required

Step 1 — Get added to the Contractor Portal

Workers can be added to the Contractor Portal by a company with Portal access. If you are a sub-contractor, this is likely to be the contractor that engaged you.

  • You cannot create an account yourself on this website.
  • Please contact your company to create your account.
  • Once your account has been created and you’ve received an email, you’ll be able to log in here.

Step 2 — Upload documents & complete required online courses

Once added, your company (and you) will receive email prompts to:

  • upload identification
  • upload licences and other documents (authorisations only)
  • complete the Horizon Power Online Induction. Allow ~20 minutes (you may be assigned further online courses depending on your scope of work)

Step 3 — Your application is assessed

Horizon Power reviews your application and all submitted documents.

  • Your registration/authorisation is issued once all requirements are complete.

Emails with required actions

Once you are authorised/registered, you'll receive email notifications to replace submitted documents as they approach expiry.

Your personal QR code

Once authorised/registered:

  • A QR code appears in your online account
  • Save it to your phone
  • Horizon Power staff can scan it anytime you’re on site

Staying compliant

Your registration/authorisation must be current when you are onsite working for Horizon Power. If any document or training you have provided expires:

  • you’ll receive a notification
  • your registration/authorisation will show as non‑compliant until updated

Horizon Power conducts routine compliance checks.
